ISO
- ISO 14692 series — design, manufacture, installation, and testing of GRP piping systems; especially relevant for long service in corrosive environments (primarily topsides / onshore piping systems).
- ISO 527 — tensile test methods for reinforced plastics (material mechanical properties).
2. China oil-industry standards (SY/T series)
- SY/T 7043-2016 — classification, manufacturing process, technical requirements, and test methods for high-pressure FRP tubing in oil and gas; the standard cites a pressure orientation on the order of 8.5–20 MPa for water/polymer injection and production.
- SY/T 6128-2012 — performance evaluation methods for casing and tubing threaded joints.
- SY/T 6267-2018 — norms for high-pressure fibreglass line pipe: resin and fibre selection and property requirements.
3. Typical technical themes (summary)
- Materials and manufacture: high-performance epoxy resins and continuous glass fibre — a common base in API and SY/T for combining pressure capacity with resistance to corrosion and temperature swings.
- Mechanics: tension, bending, compression; short- and long-term hydrostatic and cyclic (fatigue) tests — typical API evaluation tools.
- Threaded joints: API Spec 5B and SY/T 6128-2012 set high expectations for geometry and sealing.
- Material test methods: GB/T 3854-2017 (hardness) and GB/T 2577-2005 (resin content) — examples of physico-chemical checks.

Demand for energy-efficient, corrosion-resistant pipe continues to grow. As deepwater and harsher envelopes advance, standards will refine thermal resistance, impact performance, and durability; closer recognition between API and ISO can lower barriers for cross-border projects.

The title and scope are high-pressure FRP line pipe. In practice, projects sometimes also cite it for related downhole uses when the project specification says so.
How does ISO 14692 differ from API 15HR?
ISO 14692 is a series for GRP piping systems (often topsides). API 15HR is a product specification for high-pressure FRP line pipe. The scopes overlap partly but are not identical.
Must SY/T and API be cited together?
Only if the project or regulator requires it. Otherwise choose one primary frame and agree deviations.
