LEISA Tg Glass Transition Temperature (Tg) Testing Service

LEISA Tg Glass Transition Temperature (Tg) Testing Service

Glass transition temperature (Tg) testing service

Service Content

Glass transition temperature (Tg) is one of the important performance parameters of thermosetting resin-based composite materials such as glass fiber reinforced plastics (FRP), reflecting the temperature range at which the material changes from a glassy state to a highly elastic state. Raysa Technology Laboratory provides professional glass transition temperature (Tg) testing services to ensure the stability and performance of the material under the expected use environment.

Testing process

  1. Sample Receiving and Registration

    • Sample requirements : Customers provide representative material samples with a length of 130 mm ± 2 mm and the edges of both ends of the specimen are polished clean.

    • Cleaning and drying : After ultrasonic cleaning with distilled water, dry at 40℃ for 24 hours.

  2. Sample pretreatment

    • Crushing and weighing : Grind the sample into pieces or powder according to the size requirements of the DSC sample container and weigh it accurately.

    • Sampling location : For internally cured pipes, samples should be taken from the outer surface of the pipe within 0 to 0.25 mm; for externally cured pipes, samples should be taken from the inner surface of the pipe within 0 to 0.25 mm.

  3. Test preparation

    • DSC Equipment Calibration : Make sure the Differential Scanning Calorimeter (DSC) equipment is in good calibration.

    • Set the heating rate : the maximum heating rate is 40℃/min.

  4. Detection execution

    • Scanning process : Scan from room temperature to a temperature at least 30°C higher than the expected glass transition temperature (not exceeding 250°C).

    • Record data : Record the glass transition temperature (Tg) on the DSC curve, which is the midpoint temperature of the offset portion of the DSC curve.

  5. data analysis

    • Result confirmation : According to the DSC curve, confirm the glass transition temperature (Tg), and perform necessary repeated tests to ensure the accuracy of the data.

  6. Report Preparation

    • Report content : including sample information, test methods, test conditions, DSC curves, glass transition temperature (Tg) data analysis and conclusions.

    • Quality review : Data review and report preparation are performed by professional technicians.

  7. Results Feedback

    • Report delivery : The test report will be delivered to the customer in electronic or paper form.

    • Technical consultation : Provide result interpretation and technical consulting services to answer customers’ questions.
