API RP 15CLT - Recommended Practice for Composite Lined Steel Tubular Goods (WITHDRAWN)
Description
API RP 15CLT, Recommended Practice for Composite Lined Steel Tubular Goods, 1st Ed. (Sep 2007, Reaffirmed 2018), 26 pp. WITHDRAWN as of 2023.
This Recommended Practice provided guidelines for design, manufacturing, qualification, and application of composite (FRP) lined carbon steel downhole tubing - the FRP liner provided corrosion protection within the steel host. Application limits: ≤10 in. (250 mm) diameter, ≤10,000 psi (69 MPa), ≤300°F (150°C). Both API and premium connections could be used, typically with corrosion barrier (CB) rings.
Withdrawal reason: A ballot for withdrawal passed in early 2023. A replacement standard, ISO/NP 16473 Thermoplastics Lined Tubing, is under development and will cover a broader range of liner materials including HDPE, UHMWPE, PPS, and PEEK.
