First Principles Analysis
1. Scope
This specification covers high-pressure fiberglass line pipe and downhole tubing made from thermosetting resin and glass fiber reinforcement. Pressure ratings range from 3.45 MPa (500 psi) to 34.5 MPa (5,000 psi). Only mechanically coupled (8RD threaded) joints are covered. Typical applications include water injection, oil transmission, and downhole tubing in the oil and gas industry.
How to Apply API 15HR-2016
Conformity work starts by confirming the exact edition of API 15HR-2016 required by the contract and identifying any purchaser-specific additions. The product type, material system, dimensions, pressure or temperature rating, manufacturing route, and intended service environment must then be mapped to the clauses that apply. An inspection and test plan should state the sampling frequency, specimen conditioning, calibrated equipment, acceptance criteria, witness points, and rules for retesting before laboratory work begins.
