Plastic Hose Testing Services

Service Content

Plastic hoses and reinforced thermoplastic hoses (such as glass-fibre/aramid reinforced composite hoses) are widely used in oil and gas gathering, chemical transfer and water supply/drainage, where they endure internal pressure, bending and media corrosion over long service lives. Their hydrostatic performance, hardness, resin content and interlaminar bond quality are decisive for service life. The LEISA Technology laboratory provides full-scope testing for plastic hoses, covering hydrostatic (pressure) performance, flexural properties, density, Barcol and Shore hardness, resin content, apparent interlaminar shear strength, Vicat softening temperature, Charpy impact, melt flow rate and accessory dimensional measurement. Centred on constant-temperature hydrostatic systems, universal testing machines, hardness testers and melt-flow indexers, and following GB/T, ISO and ASTM methods, the laboratory delivers reliable data for hose development, batch acceptance and failure analysis.

Test Items

Service Process

  1. Sample receipt and registration: record hose specification, layer structure and production batch.
  2. Plan confirmation: select test items and pressure/temperature per hose type and service conditions.
  3. Specimen preparation and conditioning: take representative specimens and equilibrate.
  4. Testing: complete hydrostatic, mechanical, hardness and thermal tests.
  5. Data processing and review: calculate, judge conformity and review.
  6. Report delivery: issue the report with failure-mode and improvement advice.

Advantages

  • Strong pressure-test capability: multi-channel constant-temperature hydrostatic systems for long-term and short-term tests.
  • Comprehensive characterisation: mechanical, interfacial and compositional, for precise problem location.
  • Fast turnaround: standardised process shortens batch acceptance cycles.

By comprehensively testing the pressure resistance, mechanical and compositional properties of plastic hoses, the LEISA Technology laboratory provides trustworthy evidence for development validation, factory inspection and on-site failure analysis, safeguarding safe operation of conveyance systems.
