Filament-Wound FRP Vertical Storage Tank Testing Services

ISO 14692
Filament-Wound FRP Vertical Storage Tank Testing Services

Service Content

Filament-wound FRP vertical storage tanks are valued for corrosion resistance, low density and good monolithic formability, and are widely used in the chemical, water-treatment, food and petrochemical industries to store acid/alkaline media and process liquids. The tank wall comprises a resin-rich liner, a structural winding layer and an outer protective layer; its tightness, structural strength and cure quality determine storage safety and service life. Following the ISO 14692 concept together with GB/T and ASTM standards, the LEISA Technology laboratory performs "full-parameter" third-party testing of vertical tanks, covering appearance, dimensions and wall thickness, Barcol hardness, resin content, axial/hoop tensile strength, flexural strength, apparent interlaminar shear strength, leak tightness, glass transition temperature and water absorption, providing a complete basis for product acceptance and in-service assessment.

Test Items

Service Process

  1. Sample/tank receipt and registration: record volume, media, resin system and process.
  2. Plan confirmation: define a full-parameter plan per tank use and applicable standard.
  3. Specimen preparation: take hoop, axial and compositional specimens from the wall and condition them.
  4. Testing: complete mechanical, cure, tightness and compositional tests.
  5. Data processing and review: judge conformity, assess structural margin and review.
  6. Report delivery: issue the report with material-selection and process advice.

Advantages

  • Full-parameter coverage: appearance to mechanics to media resistance in one pass.
  • Corrosion focus: emphasis on liner cure and water-permeation risk.
  • International alignment: consistent with ISO 14692 composite testing for export customers.

Through full-parameter testing of filament-wound FRP vertical storage tanks, the LEISA Technology laboratory helps manufacturers and users systematically assess structural strength, cure quality and sealing/corrosion resistance, safeguarding long-term safe storage of corrosive media.
